In St. Pete last night, at the very intimate State Theater downtown I got the opportunity to hang out and enjoy some of the best new music being recorded in the blues/soul arena of music...that's just my opinion folks! This is a part of their 1 Hopeful Road Tour.
I first got hooked on Vintage Trouble when they came to Clearwater, FL during the Sea Blues Festival in early 2014...I've been more than hooked since then. As a musician and lover of music I began listening to folks like Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Maceo Parker, Muddy Waters, Eric Johnson, and Ray Charles to mention just a few of the people that shaped my playing and musical tastes. The funky groove of Vintage Trouble has revived so much for me that was my early days in this cool, freshy fresh way. I'm not going to ramble on here, this isn't a review...I just wanted to communicate as a photographer what an incredible blessing and privilege it is to be around and be inspired to make photos by folks like these four guys.
I don't know them personally, yet, but as the saying goes, we're in this love together. Thanks Nalle for letting me come down, here are some of the photos I took last night. Looking forward to many more times. I'll post more in the weeks to come but I'm gearing up for the kickoff of Clearwater Jazz Holiday that starts tomorrow.
As a parting note before I let you check out the photos, I got my career and am a photographer today because of concert photography. Shooting music is how I accidentally became a photographer in 20011 so as tomorrow marks the 4th year anniversary in this art form (with I hope many more to come) this is a special week for me and kicking it off with Vintage Trouble and the Troublemakers was just the cherry on top.
Would love to hear from you, please free to message me if you'd like to know more of connect. Cheers to The New Protocol of Soul. I'm sure glad these guys do what they do!
