Spent the past weekend at the Sun and Fun Fly in at the Lakeland Regional Airport. The line-up was intense and I’m not sure I knew what I was getting into on the front end when I decided to go. The reason I really wanted to go was simple. Two weeks prior to that was AirFest14 at MacDill AFB. The line up featured the Air Force Thunderbirds, that is always awesome. However, the rest of the show left me feeling the need for more, a lot more. I’m not an airshow junkie per say, I had been to two previously, both over at MacDill AFB.
So I’m still learning and having fun at the same time. I’m going to post some of my fav’s real soon. However, in the meantime, I wanted to share this photo that I ended up having a lot of fun with. I usually don’t create images inside photoshop to this extent. Most of my edits enhance what I’ve already shot (for 95% of the time) the way I shot it in camera. This end result wasn’t in my mind when first I set out to edit this photograph. So after the final imaged I’ve posted the two steps prior to finishing (the first being the original photograph).
Once I removed the distractions out of the way I played around with the image and tried several ideas to present a final image that was of the plane solidly placed on the ground but didn’t like any of those outcomes.
So here you have my very first attempt at this level of image trickery.
